Our Space2Grow Children & Young People's Fund has been distributing funding since 2017, providing in excess of £1.7m to member organisations (as of August 2023) to offer activities, services and opportunities to the children and young people of Barnet.

2023
The Space2Grow#29 – Small Grants for Smaller Organisations launched on the 30th January 2023 offering an opportunity for members to apply for £2,500-3,000 grants. During the year, we were able to offer two rounds of Micro Funds – Space2Grow#30 for Training & Development, Capital Expenditure and buying in of services from other Young Barnet Foundation Members, and, thanks to funding from All Aboard Charity Shops a further round in the Autumn. Space2Grow#32, for Training & Development only. Both these rounds were for a maximum grant of £250. We finished our year with our Main Grant for 2023, Space2Grow#31 the panel for which took place in December.
2022
The Space2Grow#21 Home, School and Community Fund launched on 12 January offering an opportunity for members to apply for £2,500-3,000 grants. The Holiday Activities with Food (HAF) programme has been extended for the next three years with funding available to members for Spring (Space2Grow#23), Summer (Space2Grow#24) and Winter. The Space2Grow#22 Training & Development Micro Fund runs throughout the year and offers members grants of up to £250 for staff, volunteers and/or trustees training and development.
2021
Early in 20201 Young Barnet Foundation launched Space2Grow #15, an opportunity for members to apply for £250 to cover training and development costs.
Following a partnership with Barnet Council to distribute government funding targeted at providing activities and healthy meals to children and young people in receipt of free school meals during the school holidays, we launched three "HAF2021" (Holiday Activities and Food) rounds: Space2Grow#16 (Easter 2021), Space2Grow#17 (Summer 2021) and Space2Grow#19 (Winter 2021).
Separate from the HAF2021 programme, Space2Grow#18 provided funding for members to deliver programmes during the October half term. Space2Grow#20 Main Round of funding is open for applications with a closing date of Sunday 12th December.
2020
Young Barnet Foundation are pleased to have been able to bring new 4 rounds of Space2Grow funding in 2020 along with year 2 funding for Supplementary Schools.
Following the first lockdown, Space2Grow#11 distributed £45,000 for activities during August. Space2Grow#13 helped feed children and young people during October Half-Term. Space2Grow #10 and Space2Grow #12 will see projects launched in 2021. Space2Grow #10 is for dedicated mental health support in the West Locality of the Borough. Space2Grow #12, the 2020 main grant funded a variety of activities and services across the Borough. Space2Grow #14 was a closed round allocating funding to two members for work with Refugees during the Covid period. In addition a second year of Supplementary School funding was awarded via Space2Grow #6. Click each funding round image below to find out more details.
2019
In 2019 we awarded Supplementary Schools via Space2Grow#6, 15 members via the Space2Grow #7 Micro Fund. We awarded our main 2019 grant Space2Grow#8 and sent member organisations on Summer Holiday trips via Space2Grow#9
