Young Barnet Foundation Connects Disadvantaged School Pupils with Voluntary Sector
Since April, Young Barnet Foundation has been busy connecting schools in Barnet with local voluntary, community sector organisations. Through these partnerships, the voluntary sector has been able to deliver enriching and supportive projects to some of the most disadvantaged pupils in the borough.
This project is a new initiative and has proven to be a great success.
Over 400 school children have already benefitted from these partnerships, with further projects already planned for Autumn Term and beyond.
Historically, connecting schools with local community groups had been a difficult process with inconsistent results. Now, with Young Barnet Foundation’s knowledge of their 207 voluntary sector members and 21 School partners, the process of connecting these organisations is much easier. The results speak for themselves, with more disadvantaged children accessing opportunities than ever.
