Record Space2Grow awards for BACE Holidays activities
Young Barnet Foundation has awarded £186,346 to 22 of its members who will deliver FREE activities and healthy lunches over the summer holidays for children and young people currently receiving free school meals.
The awards have been granted through Young Barnet Foundation's latest Space2Grow funding round to support BACE Holidays activities in partnership with Barnet Council and as part of the government’s Holiday Activities and Food programme.
So far in 2021 over £200,000 has been invested via Young Barnet Foundation’s Space2Grow Children and Young People’s Fund to deliver BACE Holidays activities during the school holidays.
Young Barnet Foundation members will use this latest round of Space2Grow funding to provide a total of 53,054 hours of enriching activities in 393 sessions across 302 days at centres throughout the borough this summer, supplementing Barnet Council’s existing BACE Holidays hubs.
Young Barnet Foundation CEO Janet Matthewson said, “We believe that all children and young people should have opportunities to thrive and, with our largest single round of Space2Grow funding to date, will enable our members to deliver a fantastic range of activities during the school summer holidays. It is great news for the borough’s children and young people, and we thank our members, partners and Barnet Council for making this possible.”
A wide range of BACE Holidays events and activities will be held throughout the borough from 26th July to 20th August. To find out more or to make a booking go to barnetyouth.uk/BACEHolidays.
Since 2017, Young Barnet Foundation has awarded over £740,000 to organisations, community groups and social enterprises who deliver services and support to the borough’s children and young people. To donate to Space2Grow visit youngbarnetfoundation.org.uk/donate.
