MEMBER NETWORK MEETING - 14TH SEPT 2021

We are looking forward to welcoming members and partners to our first face-to-face networking event of the year at our new office in East Barnet.

It will be a great chance for members to connect and explore opportunities with other members after so many months of online-only meetings!

  • Date: Tuesday 14th September, 9.30am

  • Location: Young Barnet Foundation, Old East Barnet Library, 85 Brook Hill Road, East Barnet, EN4 8SG

  • Theme: Strengthening Communities: The Importance of Local Spaces

  • Tickets are free and available to Young Barnet Foundation members and partners only.

The temporary closure of many of our local spaces during Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of space in strengthening communities, addressing isolation, and serving as a community lifeline.

As we look ahead to Covid recovery, we need to ensure we have safe, positive and sustainable spaces that best serve our young people and our VCSE community.

The meeting will showcase our new co-working hub for member VCSEs and will introduce ‘Venue Bank’ – a platform created by Young Barnet Foundation to help members monetise their venues, diversify their income, and access low-cost delivery space which has been often highlighted as a key challenge for the sector.

We will showcase Globechain – the reuse marketplace which allows you to easily acquire new and preloved items for free, reducing your need to buy assets and enabling you to invest your funding in other areas.

Members of the LLB Community & Estates Team will also provide an update on Community Assets and Community Ownership funding.

YBF members wishing to showcase their space should download a copy of this template, complete and return to debray@youngbarnetfoundation.org.uk by 12pm Wednesday 8th September.

Speakers:

YBF Team - New Community Co-working Hub & Venue Bank

May Al-Karooni, CEO Globechain - Reuse Marketplace

Danuisa Brzezicka, LBB Strategy Officer, Community Participation & Equalities & Member of the Estates Team – Community Assets Update, Community Ownership Funding
